New Construction Project

Having a green builder for our projects is one of our priorities, but having someone local, who is also green, is even better.  I have had many contractors in my home before, but never anyone I trust as much as Bill Babb of Better Builders.  He is an extremely conscientious person and contractor, and this is evident in the quality and detail of his work.  He has vision.  He was able to take the concept for our remodel and embellish it in a way of which we had not thought. This dramatically changed our overall design to include more space, more energy efficiency, and more style.  He took our West Seattle 1950’s basement to a whole new level and created a beautiful family den.  Having Bill work in our home was a pleasure as he is very relaxed, timely and at the end of each day, left the space very clean.  He was able to recycle 20% of materials from our house back into the new design, and recycle 80% of what came out of the demolition.  We always felt like Bill treated us as a priority, and as our general contractor, made our remodel as painless as possible.  He was affordable and reliable, and we continue to use Better Builders for all our projects, large and small.

BUILT GREEN IN WEST SEATTLE

What a treat to find a new certified green built home among the classic houses in West Seattle’s Admiral Neighborhood!  When our twin toddlers started bouncing off the walls in our house built for two, we searched for a home with much more space and a yard to play in. Better Builders delivered. Arvin and Bill’s attention to smart design and sustainable construction fit our needs perfectly and the finer details in the interior design and fixtures were exactly what we wanted.  So often in new homes, you find a lot of wasted square footage with hallways, odd-shaped rooms and useless spaces like “sitting rooms” in an attempt by the designers to be edgy.  What we found instead was an elegant and functional home without an inch of wasted space, lots of vertical to foster a bigger yard for our kids and such well-planned green construction that our energy and heating bills for our 3,700 square foot home are actually less than our old 1,300 square foot place.  Personally, Arvin and Bill were always responsive and timely in addressing our numerous inquiries and requests as we settled into our new home.  These guys definitely are Better Builders!
