    Meet Amanda: Interior Designer

Being a Design-Build General Contractor, we are frequently asked about the designers we work with. One of the wonderful companies we work with is Housewarming Seattle. We have been working with Housewarming for six years now and can honestly say that we LOVE their design team!

Let’s get to know their Lead Interior Designer, Amanda Kratochvil

Meet Amanda: Interior DesignerAmanda started with Housewarming as a stager and, after some time, transitioned to become Housewarming’s Operations Manager and Lead Residential Interior Designer. She has a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design and an unbridled passion for creating functional and beautiful spaces.

Q: How did you get into Interior Design?

“I’m the first to admit I fell into my profession. I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life, but I did know I wanted to be creative, help people, and never get tired of my job. I chose my major on a whim and instantly fell in love. Many people tell me that they would love to make things pretty like I do, and while that is a perk of the job, it’s not my central motivation. Each day is different; my clients are all unique, and I love getting to live my passion every day.”

Q: What’s Your Favorite Part of Your Job?

“I love taking a space that doesn’t function for the homeowner and making it work for them. Everyone lives a little bit differently; I love discovering the little details of my client’s life to make their lives easier and tailor their space to their lifestyle.”

“Something like relocating the entirety of a kitchen to another part of their house so that they have a better flow with their entertaining space or simply changing the swing of a door to help make the space feel more open and less crowded makes my job worth it. Seeing the look on my clients' faces when they realize the possibilities of their space makes my job worth it.”

    Making Your Visions a Reality

For Amanda, success lies in her constant search for solutions to existing challenges and her never-ending passion for improving efficiency. “I’m not satisfied with mediocrity, and I’m continually pushing to improve the world around me. My career has been the most rewarding and humbling experience of my life. I adore being able to impact the way others live and enjoy their lives. I strive to solve my clients’ problems first and foremost before even considering any aesthetics.”

    About Pete Baughman

Home renovation and custom home building have been a part of my life since birth. My great-grandfather, grandfather, and father were all Carpenters. It was only natural for me to be drawn to it as well. I worked as a Carpenter and Project lead helping him create and produce many extraordinary projects. My experiences have varied from Carpenter, Lead Carpenter, Project Manager, Production Manager, Project Developer, and Sales Manager. I started with Better Builders in 2011 and, in 2019, became an owner.
